Telephone Consultations – The Practice offers this service allowing patients to speak to the Doctor on the telephone.  Some patients find this method of consultation more convenient than coming into the surgery.  Ask the Receptionist for a telephone consultation when you make an appointment.  You can also speak to the Practice Nurse on the telephone at a pre-arranged time.

Home visits – We ask patients to come to the surgery if at all possible.  However, a Doctor will call if your condition means you cannot attend.  Please ring before 10am and let us know if your condition is urgent.

An annual Flu immunization programme for elderly and at risk patients and also a pneumonia vaccination is offered for those over 60.

Regular monitoring for patients on a range of drugs for arthritis, bowel problems and blood thinning drugs (Warfarin). Management of patients with alcohol dependency problems

To attend for any of the above clinics ring the surgery and make an appointment with either the Doctor or Nurse.

The Practice offers Counselling and patients are seen by referral from the Doctor.

The Practice offers weight management and patients are seen by referral from the Doctor.

A Phlebotomist is available for our patients and is based at Billingham Health Centre.  The Doctor and Nurse request Bloods and forms and times must be collected from the surgery before attending.

Community staff

All of the community staff attached to the Practice is based at Billingham Health Centre.  If you need to contact the District Nurse, Health Visitor or Midwife, please ring 01642 558121.

Prescriptions

We have a Repeat Prescribing Scheme together with our local pharmacists where we offer annual dispensing. That is, patients on regular drugs can obtain their monthly prescription directly from their preferred chemist.

Alternatively, we require a written request for prescriptions and 48 hours notice to process.  Prescriptions can be either be handed into Reception, faxed or posted to the surgery or through the letter box.

Pathology results

Results will be only given over the telephone between 3pm – 5pm daily (except Thursdays).  It is the responsibility of the patient to contact the surgery for test results.  Blood and urine tests usually take 2 days for results, X-rays, scans can take 10-14 days.
